Join us for one of SME Topeka’s most celebrated traditions, the Executive of the Year Banquet, an evening dedicated to honoring outstanding leadership and achievement in our community.

Since its inception in 1970, when Kansas Governor Robert Docking became the first recipient, this prestigious award has recognized leaders who exemplify excellence, integrity, and a lasting commitment to Northeast Kansas. Past honorees include influential business, civic, and community leaders whose work has helped shape Topeka’s growth and success.

For 2025, SME Topeka is proud to honor JuliAnn Mazachek as our Executive of the Year.

Dr. Mazachek serves as President of Washburn University and has been instrumental in advancing the university’s academic strength, institutional growth, and community engagement. Her leadership has elevated Washburn’s role as a cornerstone institution while fostering strong partnerships across business, education, and civic organizations throughout Topeka.

This annual banquet brings together professionals from across the region to celebrate leadership that extends beyond organizational success and into meaningful community impact. It is an evening to reflect on legacy, recognize excellence, and connect with peers who value thoughtful leadership and service.

The 2025 Executive of the Year Banquet will be held at the Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center, providing a fitting and elegant setting for one of SME Topeka’s most anticipated events of the year.

Join us for an unforgettable evening honoring leadership, vision, and the individuals who continue to shape the future of Topeka.
